Photographs by Seydou Keita, ( 1921 - 2001) was a great African portraitist who lived in Bamako, Mali from 1921 to 2001. A self-taught photographer, he opened a studio in 1948 and specialized in portraiture. Seydou Keita soon photographed all of Bamako and his portraits gained a reputation for excellence throughout West Africa. Source: seydoukeitaphotographer |
The 1920s - 1940s are most interesting to me. There was the Roaring Twenties, Black Thursday, the Depression, Volstead Act, Women's History; the list goes on and on. I also find the Gregorian, Victorian, Edwardian era interesting as well. I hope you enjoy your visit!
