Raquel Meller

Raquel Meller, born Francisca Marqués López, was an Aragonese cuplé and tonadilla singer, and diseuse. She was an international star in the 1920s and 1930s, appearing in several films and touring Europe and the Americas.  Artists such as Charlie Chaplin and Sarah Bernhart considered Raquel Meller to have been genius. She performed extensively in the United States under contract for the Schuberts, and performances broke box office records at the time.
