Erwin Blumenfeld

Erwin Blumenfeld, Grace Kelly, 1952

Erwin Blumefeld was born in Berlin in 1897 and died in Rome in 1969. He lived in Holland and France, then in the US, where he became one of the most popular and influential photographers of the 20th century. His great fashion photographs bear the influence of Dadaism from the 1920s and 1930s. He worked for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Look, Cosmopolitan and Life.
