Margaret Gorman

The first Miss America, Margaret Gorman, (August 18, 1905–October 1, 1995) strikes a pose with her toes, bare knee-caps and all, and smiles. Spectators are gathered behind her. Margaret Gorman of Washington, D.C., stands 5'1" tall, measures 30-25-32, and has recently turned 16 years old. Here original title is "Miss Washington," but before the pageant repeats for its second year she will become "Miss America." c. 1921
