Modern Vintage: Replace Face – Celebrities in Lieu of Russian GeneralsReplace Face is by far one of the coolest blogs I’ve ever come across. The artist, (who’s name isn’t anywhere on his site) found a slew of great paintings by George Dawe who painted 329 portraits of Russian Generals that were active during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia. He gave them an entertaining modern twist by replacing their heads with today’s icons like Steve Jobs, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, and so on. The photoshopping is flawless, making it an incredibly addictive blog to keep visiting to see new additions. |
The 1920s - 1940s are most interesting to me. There was the Roaring Twenties, Black Thursday, the Depression, Volstead Act, Women's History; the list goes on and on. I also find the Gregorian, Victorian, Edwardian era interesting as well. I hope you enjoy your visit!
